18, 19, 20 and 21 of September will be particularly intense days for Val di Fiemme as it prepares to host the FIS Nordic Summer Festival in the run-up to Milano Cortina 2026, welcoming athletes from Italy and around the world to compete in the most dynamic formats of Ski Jumping, Nordic Combined and Roller-skiing.
In the middle of summer, Nordic discipline champions are busy training, attending camps, and preparing on all fronts for the new winter season, but also, and above all, to hone their skills for the summer events of the top circuits. While the Summer World Cup will not start until August for ski jumpers and Nordic Combined skiers, for roller-skiers, the season has already begun. Last weekend, the best in the sport gathered in Madona, Latvia, for the first of four stages of the season, with the grand finale in Val di Fiemme.
The World Cup finals for ‘summer cross-country skiing’ will take place in Trentino, with the Sprint, Team Sprint Mix and Mass Start events all scheduled to take place in free technique on the roads of Ziano di Fiemme. In what is now widely recognised as the capital of international Roller-Skiing, the performances of the best athletes will be eagerly awaited.
The level of competition in Val di Fiemme will be very high: Sweden will be one of the most closely watched nations with athletes such as Ebba Stenman, Johanna Holmberg, and Eddie Petterson already leading the overall rankings in their respective age groups. However, the Val di Fiemme event will be a highly international affair, with numerous countries from around the world represented at the start.
Roller-skiing will not be the only sport featured at the FIS Nordic Summer Festival: Val di Fiemme will host an intense programme of competitions, with Roller-skiing, ski Jumping and Nordic Combined taking place at its various venues. The renovated jumping hills at the Predazzo Ski Jumping Stadium and the streets of the centre of Ziano di Fiemme will provide the backdrop for the competitions of the world's best athletes, who will put on yet another unparalleled sporting show in the valley where the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games will take place next winter.
The FIS Nordic Summer Festival will be free for the public, fans and enthusiasts, with the Nordic Ski Val di Fiemme organising committee and its volunteers already hard at work to offer a varied programme of side events to engage sports lovers of all ages.
