Superb Geiger, Germany triumphs in Val di Fiemme (ITA)

Team Sprint won by the two German teams, 3rd place to Norway

After the jumping round Team Germany II is ahead of Germany I, third place for Japan I

Frenzel-Geiger take Team Sprint victory, 2nd place to Riessle-Rydzek and 3rd to Norway’s Moan-Kokslien

Tomorrow the Individual Gundersen at the Ski Jumping Stadium in Predazzo and at the Cross Country Stadium in Lago di Tesero



Today, second race of the FIS Nordic Combined World Cup weekend in Val di Fiemme (ITA), with the Team Sprint event. At the Ski Jumping Stadium in Predazzo, Team Germany II – Vinzenz Geiger and Eric Frenzel – was in the lead after the jumping round with a total of 261.1 points. In second place there was the other Team Germany featuring Fabian Riessle and Johannes Rydzek (+0.15), while in third place there were the Japanese brothers Akito and Yoshito Watabe (+0.17). At the Cross Country Stadium in Lago di Tesero, the race was a demonstration of strength from the Germans: the young 1997 Geiger outsprinted his teammate Johannes Rydzek for the win. The veteran Magnus Moan (NOR) came third ahead of Team Finland. Tomorrow, last day in Val di Fiemme with the Individual Gundersen event (jumping round at 10 am, cross country round at 1.45 pm).
