FIS opens to the possibility of seeing ladies jump from the big hill starting from March 2013 in Oslo
Last Friday in Zurich, during the FIS meeting, the representatives of the federation talked about the future of ladies ski-jumping. Starting from March next year, it could be possible to see the «flying-girls» on the big hill and the premiere may take place on the wonderful hill of Holmenkollen, one of the main theaters in ski-jumping.
Until now, the international races for ladies in ski-jumping have taken place only on normal hills and even at national level there aren’t so many races on the large hill. Nevertheless, the proposal has received a warm welcome by FIS. Lars Brede Braathen, sports director for Norway, seemed very satisfied with the decision of FIS: «This is a very important step for the development of the entire discipline and now there is a possibility that we will see also some large hill competitions in the World Cup and World Championships schedule».
