Today, the Bislett Stadium of Oslo will host a spectacular race: in one of Norway’s most famous arenas, some of the best athletes in the World will compete against each other on some unusual distances, the 100 m and 500 m on skis!
This event will therefore be the opportunity to see how cross-country skiers, used to run long races in the woods, will cope with such short distances and in a real track-and-field stadium.
Starting at 17:00, this entertaining show will cast 16 ladies and 16 men coming from 7 different countries. And we are not talking about unknown athletes...
The starting list features names as Marit Bjoergen, Therese Johaug, Charlotte Kalla, Anna Haag, Vibeke Skofterud, Katja Visnar, Marcus Hellner, Eirik Brandsdal, Andy Newell, Federico Pellegrino, Emil Joensson, Ola Vigen Hattestad, Teodor Peterson and Petter Northug jr., who will come-back for his last race in this season after some physical issues that prevented him from taking part to Vasaloppet and other World Cup races.
Besides the thrilling race and the wonderful atmosphere that the Bislett stadium will surely provide, the event will also give the chance to establish a new World Record that will go down in history and in the Guinness World Record with the label "fastest time to ski 100 m".
So, if you want to know who will be able to bring home the title of «Usain Bolt of XC», just wait until tonight and you will know!
