On Sunday July 1st, a roller skiing race in memory of Inge Braaten took place in Sunne, Värmland.
The organizers welcomed the biggest stars of Cross-Country skiing. Andreas Slätt, who is the project and PR manager of Inge Braaten Memorial, stated : “It feels really great to have such a great starting field. After so much hard work we have simply been the best,”
Charlotte Kalla (SWE) and Peter Northug (NOR) were the winning couple.
Petter Northug impressed 12.000 spectators with a strong performance both in the semifinals and then in the "Norwegian-only" final. Ragnar Bragvin Andresen went for second place as Tord Asle Gjerdalen finished third. "He [Petter Northug] is very smart and fights his way to places you would not believe. Suddenly he got 20 meters and it was impossible to take him again," Bragvin Andresen commented on Northug's performance.
Charlotte Kalla pleased the local fans as she stormed for victory among ladies, ahead of Ida Ingemarsdotter and the surprise of the day, the young Maja Dahlquist.
